This AI Use and Transparency Policy explains how LinkEdu.AI uses artificial intelligence, automated systems, deterministic rules, statistical methods, and related technologies. It should be read together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose
LinkEdu.AI is an AI-powered, automation-first software-as-a-service platform that connects prospective students with universities. AI and automation are used to make university discovery, matching, recruitment workflows, support, communications, monitoring, and platform operations more efficient while preserving human responsibility for consequential decisions.
The Platform is designed for highly automated operation, including routine workflows that may be performed by software, scheduled processes, rules, or AI. Exceptional, sensitive, security-related, legal, billing, or otherwise unresolved matters may be escalated for human review.
2. AI and Automated Functions
LinkEdu may use AI and automation for functions including:
- student program and university matching;
- evidence-based fit, competitiveness, and matching explanations;
- AI Advisor and automated support assistance;
- document extraction and structured-data assistance, including user confirmation where the workflow requires it;
- student and university summaries and workflow explanations;
- university candidate prioritization and recruitment assistance;
- draft communications in Review-Before-Send workflows;
- application, invitation, and engagement reminders or nudges;
- operational support, exception triage, monitoring summaries, and founder intelligence; and
- other assistive or operational functions introduced consistently with this Policy and applicable law.
3. Matching, Eligibility and Admission Information
LinkEdu.AI's matching system may combine deterministic eligibility gates, weighted fit factors, evidence quality, statistical methods, and AI-assisted explanations. Matching may consider academic fit, preferences, financial considerations, scholarship information, program requirements, and other relevant information available to the Platform.
A numerical admission probability is displayed only when LinkEdu has sufficient evidence under its current methodology, such as reliable program-level evidence or sufficiently calibrated observed outcomes. When evidence is insufficient, LinkEdu may instead display qualitative classifications such as Strong, Competitive, Reach, Insufficient Data, or Not Eligible, together with confidence or explanatory information where available.
These outputs are estimates and decision-support information, not admissions decisions, promises, rankings by a university, or guarantees of any outcome. Universities determine their own admission criteria and make their own decisions.
4. Human Responsibility and Review-Before-Send
Universities retain sole responsibility for admissions, scholarship, enrollment, and other institutional decisions. Students remain responsible for their applications, information, choices, and personal decisions.
Some university recruitment features may identify or prioritize candidates and generate draft communications. Where a workflow is designated Review Before Send, an authorized institutional user must review and approve the communication before it is sent. LinkEdu does not authorize autonomous recruitment outreach where the Platform requires human approval.
AI-generated support or operational responses may be automated for routine matters. Matters that cannot be resolved reliably through automation may be escalated for human review where appropriate.
5. Limitations and No Guarantees
AI and automated outputs have important limitations:
- outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, outdated, inconsistent, or affected by incomplete or inaccurate student, university, program, or third-party data;
- AI-generated explanations do not replace official university requirements or institutional judgment;
- LinkEdu does not guarantee admission, enrollment, scholarships, financial aid, visa or immigration approval, program availability, recruitment performance, or any other educational outcome;
- visa-related or immigration-related information is general informational content and is not legal or immigration advice; and
- users should verify material information with the relevant university, government authority, official source, or qualified professional before acting on it.
6. AI Data Processing and Model Providers
Information submitted to AI-assisted features may be processed through LinkEdu's AI routing and automation infrastructure and, where appropriate, selected third-party AI model providers. Depending on the task and availability, providers may include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other providers described in LinkEdu's Privacy Policy or subprocessor disclosures.
LinkEdu seeks to minimize unnecessary disclosure of personal information and to route data appropriate to the requested function. Provider availability, model selection, contractual terms, retention practices, and technical configurations may change over time.
LinkEdu does not sell AI interaction data. Personal data used in AI-assisted functions is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. LinkEdu will not state that a third-party provider never retains or uses submitted data for model improvement unless the applicable contractual terms and technical settings support that statement.
7. Documents and Extracted Information
AI or automated systems may assist with extracting or structuring information from documents such as transcripts, CVs, test results, recommendations, or other materials submitted by users. Extracted information may contain errors. Where the Platform requests user confirmation, the user must review and confirm or correct the extracted information before relying on it.
Uploading a document does not guarantee that LinkEdu can accurately interpret, validate, authenticate, or verify its contents. Users remain responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of submitted materials.
8. Fairness, Safety and Responsible Use
LinkEdu may use automated rules, moderation, rate limits, security controls, monitoring, and human review where appropriate to reduce fraud, abuse, manipulation, harmful content, discriminatory misuse, unauthorized access, and other threats to Platform integrity.
AI systems may reflect limitations or biases in available data, models, or methodology. LinkEdu may evaluate and adjust safeguards, scoring logic, prompts, models, or data-quality controls as the Platform evolves.
9. Prohibited AI Misuse
Users must not use LinkEdu AI or automated features to:
- engage in unlawful discrimination, harassment, deception, fraud, or other illegal conduct;
- generate or distribute harmful, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading content;
- attempt to obtain another person's private or confidential information without authorization;
- attempt to extract system prompts, credentials, private data, proprietary source code, model weights, or protected internal logic;
- bypass safeguards, rate limits, authorization controls, or security measures;
- systematically probe the Platform for vulnerabilities without authorization; or
- use automation to scrape, harvest, spam, or contact users outside workflows permitted by LinkEdu.
10. Availability, Rate Limits and Cost Controls
AI features depend on third-party services, computing resources, data availability, and operational limits. LinkEdu may change models, apply rate or capacity limits, queue requests, use alternative models, temporarily restrict functionality, or suspend an AI feature when reasonably necessary for security, reliability, abuse prevention, service quality, or sustainable operation.
Student access to LinkEdu.AI remains free. Technical, security, capacity, or fair-use controls do not create a paid student tier or require students to purchase AI access.
11. Transparency and Changes to AI Systems
LinkEdu may update models, prompts, matching methodology, scoring logic, thresholds, routing, providers, safeguards, and automation workflows as the Platform evolves. Such changes may affect outputs and may cause similar inputs to produce different results over time.
Material changes that significantly affect user rights, privacy practices, or the nature of consequential outputs will be reflected in this Policy, the Privacy Policy, the Terms of Service, or appropriate product notices where required.
LinkEdu may provide explanations, evidence indicators, confidence information, or other context designed to help users understand certain automated outputs. The level of explanation available may vary by feature and underlying evidence.
12. Privacy and Automated Processing
The Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal data processed by LinkEdu, the purposes of processing, student discoverability controls, AI processing, service providers, retention, deletion, and privacy rights.
LinkEdu does not authorize AI systems to make final university admission, scholarship, enrollment, or immigration decisions on behalf of universities or government authorities. Where applicable law provides rights relating to automated decision-making or profiling, LinkEdu will honor those rights as required.
